WHAT IS CRYOPEN USED FOR?. CryoPen® comfortably treats all common benign skin lesions with no downtime including: verrucae, skin tags, solar lentigo, pigmented spots, cherry angiomas, birthmarks, actinic keratoses, seborrheic keratoses, haemangioma, molluscum contagiosum, condyloma, milia, plantar warts and more. HOW DOES IT WORK? CryoPen® Cryosurgery is a medical procedure that applies an ultra-cold jet of high-pressure nitrous oxide directly on to skin lesions. The gas is very cold, -89°C which helps to freeze and destroy any benign lesions resulting in the destruction of skin lesions as the membrane surrounding the treated cells is ruptured and destroyed with no damage to healthy tissue. DURING THE TREATMENT During the treatment you may see a frost or ice field on the top of the lesion. This shouldn’t cause any worry as the frost usually goes away within a few seconds. After the treatment and what to expect There is no downtime and no pain with this treatment. The treatment takes only a few seconds and you can return to your normal daily activities quickly. The skin tag/solar keratosis will usually change colour and fall off after a few days and a very small area around the surrounding skin may change colour and become slightly red for a week.
