“Age is measured by the flexibility of the spine - Yogi bhajan “ This beginners course is part of a wider program that will explore physical, psychological and spiritual associations with back health. The back is important in yoga because its the seat of the central nervous system and the home of four of the Chakras. By releasing tension and blockages this will have a positive effect on the organs and glandular or endocrine system and glands which are connected to an organ. Kundalini yoga is a particularly beneficial yoga for the spine and is sometime referred to as spine yoga. Therefore, this course will focus on supporting the back and working on the chakras and the mind through breathwork and relaxation. Some kundalini sequences we will do work up the spine from the base, moving it in all six directions. Others focus on moving energy through your body through meditation. The physical and mental aspects of Kundalini work in tandem to mitigate back pain and promote spinal health. Benefits 1. This course works systematically from the base of the spine to the top. All 26 vertebrae will receive stimulation and all the chakras receive a burst of energy. 2. Increased circulation of the spinal fluid, which is crucially linked to having a good memory. Basic spinal series 3. Together these exercises get the abdominal area in shape quickly, and activate the power of the Third Chakra. 4. Alleviates mild depression, gain greater mental clarity, good for general strength, digestion, therefore good to do before meditation. 5. Yin Yoga will Improve flexibility, lengthens muscles, Lubricates joints, reduces adhesions and strengthens ligaments. 6. Breathwork or Pranayama plays a pivotal role in ridding our bodies of harmful toxins by clearing the lungs, mucous linings, blood vessels, and other cells 7. Improves lung capacity and respiration, oxygenates the blood, thereby energizing and healing the body's cells, Boosts immunity and helps prevent many diseases. There is an option to include Bodywork or Massage therapy to support your course. Please get in touch for a special offer package.
